We will be able to watch "The Romeo and Juliet's Videodrama" really soon. Our 4º de ESO students together with teachers from different areas ( English, Spanish, Technology, Humanities, Information and Communication Technology, Physical Education, Music... ) have worked hard to film Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet story. The video has been recorded and subtitled in English. This has been an ambitious and demanding project in which students not only act, but also play music and dance. The Junta de Andalucía Educational Authorities have sponsored us to make it come true. Some students' families and the Conservatorio Elemental de Música José Hidalgo in Torre del Mar have also helped out.

We take English everywhere: even to the III Bienal Internacional de Arte y Escuela de la Axarquía in Torre del Mar!!!
Once more we have taken part in the Bienal Art Exhibition. We couldn't miss it. This year we've been lucky to have our assistant Zianna there as she has conducted the "Con Pelos y a lo Loco" workshop in English!!! We must thank our Art teacher, Lucía Ramírez Montiel, for all the extra work this exhibition has entailed!!! It's been worthwhile.

Today 1º, 3º and 4º de ESO students have enjoyed a sports morning under nine native English speaking coaches. Practising sports plus speaking and listening English by native speakers is one of the best ways of learning the language. We guess our students must have noticed their accent was so strong...We thank Michael Chitty, the organiser, and his group of coaches from Northern Ireland because they have come to our school once again this year. Friends, have a safe journey back home and come back again soon, please!!! The amazing morning through a few photos:

Today many of our 1º, 2º and 3º de ESO students enjoyed a Culture Class by John Oster from Burlington Books. Apart from learning about double decker buses, tea, Queen Elisabeth II, the Union Jack, haggis, Nessie, Prince Charles, bagpipes... our students improved their listening skills. Our boys and girls got very useful information, learned about culture in the UK and participated a lot as answering was very easy with the provided cards.
Our 4º ESO B student, Lucía Corrales Navarro, has been granted a three week summer scholarship for going to the USA next September. Click on the video below and you will check how happy she feels.
Congratulations, Lucía, you will make most of it!!!

Yesterday, our three lucky winners, Ashlee Ortega Ledesma 3º ESO C, Ana Fernández Moreno 3º ESO A and Desirée Vacas Aponte 4º ESO A got the prize for their great photos. We took them to Aenfis School of Languages in Vélez-Málaga. They didn't know exactly what the prize was until they arrived at this school: conversation lessons in English together with a friend. Check how happy they were:
On the way to getting the surprise prize...
They were getting nearer and nearer, but they still couldn't guess what it was about....
Finally at Aenfis getting the prize by Ana Gámez Gutiérrez, the owner of the school!
We thank the school for collaborating with us and we wish our students made most of the lessons there.

On Thursday 26th April 3º de ESO students spent the day in Gibraltar together with three teachers. There they went on a guided tour in English, went up the Rock on a shuttle bus, saw the Apes and visited Saint Michael's Caves. They also had some free time for hanging around and having lunch. Besides they went shopping on their own in Main Street, so they had the chance of practising their English in a real context. Our students could check what a British town is like without travelling very far away. The weather was great and the sights up the Rock were astonishing. The following photo shows the lovely day out:
